Instructors
JinSung has been teaching yoga and Taoist breathing for fifteen years. Studying primarily with Iyenar teachers, he owes his gratitude and inspiration to B.K.S. Iyengar. JinSung practices yoga to support a healthy environment for meditation. Believing that yoga is a good thing that can help an infinite spectrum of people, JinSung loves to teach and share.
Yolanda Marie Vazquez teaches hatha yoga in the Iyengar tradition, and has been deeply involved in yoga for 33 years. She teaches privately, at Piedmont Yoga Studio and at Oakland Yoga Studio. Also nationally certified in bodywork and therapeutic massage, Yolanda integrates structural alignment, spiritual awakening, and emotional healing in a uniquely personal way. Her current paths of study are CranioSacral Therapy, Kundalini Yoga, and shamanic spirituality. In addition, Yolanda directs Yoga for a Cause, actively raising funds for 70 non-profits that support peace, conservation, and human rights worldwide.
Laurence Korth Laurence's classes provide a safe learning environment to build strength, flexibility and body alignment. She gently encourages her students to sustain their focus on connecting breath, movement and mind. Her classes follow the Iyengar traditions, including Yin Yoga and restorative poses. She has completed Piedmont Yoga studio 2-year teacher training, studying with Richard Rosen, Rodney Yee and Clare Finn. Her primary teachers also include Jinsung, Donald Moyer, Tias Little and Sarah Powers.
Barbara Roessler is a self-described Yoga "mutt". Her influences include Donald Moyer, Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers, Eric Schiffman and JinSung. She often begins her classes with Yin poses to access the deep internal areas of the body, combines breath and movement in the Krishnamacharya tradition and explores alignment in the Hatha Yoga/Iyengar tradition. She believes Yoga opens up the door to the Heart and consequently connects us all through creating community. She is a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher and a practitioner of Yoga since 1992.
Jessie Holland teaches yoga in the Iyengar tradition. Her classes emphasize the precise alignment taught in the Iyengar system, along with sustained reflection on the connection of the body, mind and breath. She also integrates her studies of Ayurveda into each yoga class, helping students to harmonize the systems of the body with the rhythms of nature. Jessie is eternally grateful for the teachings of all her instructors and students. She completed her 200 hour teacher training certificate in the Iyengar tradition, and is also currently completing the 500 hour teacher training program at the Iyengar Institute of San Francisco. Jessie is a certified Relax and Renew Trainer. In addition, she will graduate this May from the California College of Ayurveda to become a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist.
